Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Lord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Lance Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Lord has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Lord!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, DJ Lance Rock!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rock fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rock fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck for Rock with that takedown attempt.
Jay Lord has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DJ Lance Rock.
Lord fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lord tries to avoid it but Rock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lord to the ground. Lord escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lord wants to get back to his feet but Rock drags him back down.

You can see the frustration on Lord's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lord managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rock.
Lord is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lord wants to get back to his feet.
Rock is looking to take a break and control but Lord is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lord is looking for a triangle but Rock pushes his legs off easily.

Rock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rock lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lord manages to escape and get back to his feet!
No luck for Rock with that takedown attempt.

and Lord counters by clinching up.
Lord lands an elbow that stopped Rock in his tracks for a moment.

Rock works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Lord keeping moving, preventing Rock from controlling successfully.
Lord is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

and Lord holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Poor strikes thrown by Rock there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Lord is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Lord tries to reverse the position but Rock maintains control.

Rock working for a guillotine from mount but Lord is in no mood to give up.
Lord bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lord avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rock looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lord is one step ahead there.
Lord postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lord wants to get up but he can't break Rock's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rock throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Lord stands and steps away. Rock gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Rock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lord swivels though and keeps the full guard.

DJ Lance Rock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rock avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jay Lord is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rock shoots in looking for a takedown. Lord tries to sprawl out of it but Rock keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Lord manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lord fails with an attempt to clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Lord.
I think Lord has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
