Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Francois Marais!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marais tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Anderson was well out of range. Poor timing from Marais.
Anderson punishes Marais's body with a nice straight punch.
Marais swings away with a body shot that misses
and Anderson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Anderson digs a good body shot into Marais's ribs.
Marais gets a double leg takedown into Anderson's guard.
Marais drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marais jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Marais stays in close to Anderson's body and controls the position.
Anderson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Marais's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Marais drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Marais off! Marais jumps back into Anderson's guard.
Anderson has his hands on Marais's head, controlling the position.
Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marais on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Anderson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marais controls the pace.

Marais controls from within his opponent's guard.
Marais stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Marais sitting in guard here, content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Marais passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Marais is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Anderson is trying to escape and Marais transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Anderson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Marais! Very nice indeed!
