Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Waller (ranked 2243 p4p, 127 weight class) and Barry Jameson (ranked 4447 p4p, 217 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Waller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry Jameson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waller digs a good hook to Jameson's body.
Waller lands with a shot to the body.
Jameson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Waller connects with the punch.
Waller scores with a three punch combo!

Jameson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Waller is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Waller scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jameson doesn't seem bothered though.

Barry Jameson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waller slaps away a takedown attempt from Jameson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Waller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jameson.

A quick step to the side and Waller tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jameson shoots in and bounces Waller off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jameson is standing up over Waller. Waller looks to escape but Jameson dives into side control.

Jameson cracks Waller with a big right hand but Waller just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Waller avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Jameson.
Jameson grinds an elbow into Waller's temple.
Jameson is trying to ground and pound but Waller uses the momentary lack of control by Jameson to regain half guard.
Jameson winds up and cracks Waller with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jameson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Jameson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jameson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Waller regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Jameson.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jameson postures up in Waller's guard and throws a big left but Waller blocks it.
Jameson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Waller not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Waller knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jameson on the ground.
Jameson tries to free his leg and advance position but Waller is retaining full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jameson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Waller on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Waller tries to get out of the position.
Jameson throws a strike but Waller rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Waller wants to stand but Jameson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jameson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Waller looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Jameson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Waller wants to get back to his feet.
Jameson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Waller does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jameson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Jameson is looking to take a break and control but Waller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Waller is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jameson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Jameson wants to free his trapped foot but Waller is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jameson stops Waller from getting back to his feet.
Jameson is keen to just control but Waller is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Waller lands with an uppercut that bounces Jameson off the cage and back into range.

and Waller counters with a nice uppercut.

Waller gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jameson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Waller wants to get back to his feet but Jameson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Waller has momentary wrist control but Jameson slips an elbow through the middle.
Waller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jameson can do to turn this around?
Jameson stands up over Waller, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jameson wants to control from the top but Waller keeps moving.

Jameson throws a big elbow that misses.
Jameson distracts Waller with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jameson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jameson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Barry Jameson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Waller has his feet on Jameson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Jameson misses with a takedown attempt - Waller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jameson shoots in but Waller avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Jameson has a takedown stuffed.
Jameson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jameson.
Jameson is breathing heavily.

Waller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Waller lands a really nice looking cross but Jameson seems unphased.
Jameson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Waller's waist but Waller gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jameson off to one side.

enabling Waller to counter with a crisp jab.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Waller bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jameson's head.

Waller lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

and Jameson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jameson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Waller scores with a counter punch that sends Jameson to the canvas! Waller smells blood - he's punishing Jameson with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Jameson has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Waller!
