Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Jimson (ranked 4484 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Alexander (ranked 4867 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexander jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jimson walks away with a smile on his face. Alexander gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Alexander closes the distance and clinches up with Jimson, looking for a takedown. Alexander pushes Jimson against the cage but Jimson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jimson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alexander's waist but Alexander gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jimson off to one side.
Jimson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alexander is fending him off so far but Jimson persists. Nope, Alexander circles away and we're back to standing.
Jimson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Jimson pulls guard effortlessly.
Alexander postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jimson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Alexander is pushing down on Jimson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jimson is fighting to maintain full guard but Alexander has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jimson is positioning himself well to prevent Alexander advancing to mount.
Jimson is looking to control Alexander's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jimson avoid being mounted?
It looks like Alexander is going to stand back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Alexander is keen to just control but Jimson is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alexander shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jimson but Jimson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jimson swings wildly with an uppercut but Alexander uses good head movement to avoid it.

Alexander has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jimson uses from the top position.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Jimson will probably get the nod.

That kick from Jimson tenderised Alexander's leg. Alexander is trying to keep his angry face on.

It looked like Jimson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Alexander.

Alexander shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jimson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
