The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eggard looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wiener is looking to counter with head kicks.
Eggard shoots and misses
and Wiener counters with a big head kick but Eggard shrugs it off.
Wiener throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eggard scores with a takedown into Wiener's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wiener wants to get back to his feet but Eggard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Wiener on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wiener tries to get out of the position.

Eggard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wiener swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wiener is wriggling around but Eggard manages to pass to half guard.
Eggard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wiener knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Eggard stalling away here and it's allowed Wiener to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Eggard passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Wiener is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Wiener is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Eggard is controlling him well.

Eggard is working to tighten his grip on Wiener's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Wiener has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Eggard is really squeezing tight and eventually Wiener passes out! Eggard breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
