Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Al Hereford (ranked 5634 p4p, 407 weight class) and Yayi Zinsou (ranked 4000 p4p, 333 weight class). The key to victory for Al Hereford has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hereford swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Zinsou scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Hereford to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Zinsou away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Hereford got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!

Zinsou breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Hereford with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Hereford looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Hereford get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? Yes, he's struggled back up to his feet and seems OK to continue. The referee agrees so we're back to the action!

and Zinsou counters with a perfectly timed counter left hook that drops Hereford to the mat, face first! Zinsou goes to the neutral corner and waits for the referee to start the count. Hereford is back to hise feet already though and looking to continue the bout! Exciting stuff!
Zinsou has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hereford loses concentration momentarily and Zinsou takes advantage, cracking him with a big elbow that sends him off balance, tumbling to the mat. Hereford is forced to take a standing eight count before the referee allows him to continue the bout.

Yayi Zinsou decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
