The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horne goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Jones feints and as Horne raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Horne for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horne moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Horne on that attempt.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And Horne tries to counter it with a takedown but Jones pushes his down on his head and steps out.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Horne is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Good leg kick by Jones there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Horne wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.

Horne manages to escape and get back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Horne enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Horne manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Horne wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jones drops down looking for a counter takedown but Horne sprawls and moves away.

Horne now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Horne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Horne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Nope Horne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horne pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Horne as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Horne comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Jones stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Horne is on him like rabid pit bull! Jones slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
