Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chandler Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Yates!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yates pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nelson is out of range and Yates settles back down.
Yates attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nelson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Horrible takedown attempt by Nelson or perhaps it was just good defense by Yates, which made it look bad.
Yates throws a low kick but Nelson avoids it.
Yates connects with a single shot there.
Yates fails to land with a series of punches.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yates but Yates pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson misses with a takedown attempt - Yates sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nelson goes for a double leg but Yates avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Yates continues to drive forward.

Nelson needs to keep his hands up - Yates had a free shot at his head there.

Yates feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nelson's calf.
Yates lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Chandler Nelson has been cut.
Yates throws a wild body kick that Nelson sees coming a mile off.
Oh Nelson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yates throws a head kick but Nelson moves out of range.

Yates turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Nelson seems to have got his legs back now.
Jimmy Yates is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Nelson dives in and scores a takedown into Yates's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yates bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nelson's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nelson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Yates.

Yates lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
