Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fredrik Loow (ranked 6280 p4p, 413 weight class) and Freja Nordman (ranked 5822 p4p, 392 weight class). Freja Nordman will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nordman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Loow swivels and escapes.

Nordman darts in and clinches Loow up against the cage.
Nordman is trying to maintain a safe position but Loow gets an underhook and turns Nordman into the cage.

Loow breaks from the clinch.
Nordman scores with a body shot.
Nordman shoots and misses
and Nordman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nordman darts in looking for a takedown but Loow gets double underhooks and turns Nordman into the cage.
Loow throws a big counter combination but Nordman scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

and Loow holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Loow lands a good knee to the midsection. Nordman won't want to take too many of those.

Loow throws a leg kick which misses Nordman 's front leg but catches the back leg as Nordman tries to avoid it.
Nordman dives in and grabs Loow's left leg, looking for a takedown. Loow pushes down on Nordman 's head and hops out.

Loow closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nordman quickly recovers to half guard.

Loow seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Loow postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Nordman to stand up.

Loow has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Loow lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Loow works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Loow looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nordman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Loow throws a head kick but Nordman moves out of range.

Loow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nordman to the mat! Nordman manages to get full guard.
Nordman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Loow dives into side control.

Loow has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Nordman rushes Loow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Loow here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Loow closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nordman 's guard.

Loow slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Loow decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nordman , up you get!
