The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Semenov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gunss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Guns misses with a leg kick
enabling Semenov to counter with a crisp jab.
Kirill Semenov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Semenov tests Guns's chin there with a solid looking shot.

and Semenov counters with a left and a right that stings Guns.
Guns has his takedown stuffed

Guns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Semenov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A little jabbing left from Semenov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Guns shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Semenov as he jumps to the side.

Guns could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Semenov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Guns momentarily.

Guns is breathing heavily.
Semenov catches Guns with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Guns takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Guns gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Semenov might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Semenov's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Semenov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Semenov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Tom Guns has been cut.

Guns drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Semenov is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Guns had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Semenov connects with a body shot that sends Guns's belly button to the back.

Semenov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Guns looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Guns. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Oh Guns is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Nice combo by Semenov! Oh, that's hurt him - Guns falls to the canvas and Semenov follows him into side control.

Semenov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Guns to his feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Semenov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Semenov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Semenov cracks Guns with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Semenov stalks Guns and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Guns's face. Guns staggers backwards, shaken.
Guns tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Semenov defends well and Guns ends up having to push Semenov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Semenov let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Semenov cracks Guns's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Guns slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Semenov can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Kirill Semenov decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
