PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heitor Machado (ranked 962 p4p, 46 weight class) and Bo Bodfors (ranked 5430 p4p, 175 weight class). Bodfors has chosen Raubtier - Achtung Panzer as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Hemmingworth and Darius Henderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Machado shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bodfors pinned against the cage. Bodfors gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bodfors throws a counter combo.
Machado shoots for a double leg takedown but Bodfors sprawls well. He's pushed Machado's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Machado connects with the punch.

Machado has taken the fight to the clinch.

Machado breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bodfors scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Machado doesn't seem bothered though.

Machado has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bodfors is working away from the top position though.

Machado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bodfors gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close round but I would say that Heitor Machado will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bodfors tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machado was well out of range. Poor timing from Bodfors.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bodfors! But no joy.
Machado lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bodfors at a distance.

Machado is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Heitor Machado overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Machado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Machado is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bodfors is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bodfors has escaped and now he's on top!

Machado is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bodfors is sitting in close to Machado's body. Machado has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Bodfors is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Bodfors is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Machado.
