Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Angel Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Wallabees (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel Pain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Angel Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brandon Wallabees!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pain closes the distance and clinches.

Pain breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wallabees gets caught flat footed, as Pain shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wallabees wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Wallabees is trying to keep Pain in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pain tries to stand but Wallabees is controlling from the bottom.
Pain advances position into side control!
The ground and pound from Pain seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Wallabees is trying to control Pain's posture but Pain avoids it.
Pain tries to get to his feet but Wallabees is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Pain in his guard.
Wallabees controls Pain momentarily but Pain frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pain trying to control but Wallabees is working from the bottom.
Pain in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Pain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pain throws a jab when Wallabees was well out of range.
Pain looks for a takedown but Wallabees sprawls well.
Pain shoots in looking for a takedown. Wallabees tries to sprawl out of it but Pain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wallabees manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pain takes the fight into the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Wallabees as Pain tries to tie him up.
Pain lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Pain wants the takedown. Wallabees is fighting it off but Pain persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wallabees's guard against the cage.
Wallabees wants to stand and escape but Pain is having none of it.
Wallabees tries to strike from the bottom.
Pain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wallabees is keeping the position for now.
Pain passes Wallabees's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wallabees is holding on to half guard well.
Wallabees is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wallabees controlling the position well.
Pain is keen to just control but Wallabees is a slippery customer.

The fighters are battling for position here. Wallabees manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Wallabees looks gassed!

Wallabees looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pain controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Pain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wallabees is keeping the position for now.
Wallabees is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pain trying to control but Wallabees is working from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pain throwing strikes from guard but Wallabees blocks nicely.
Pain wants to control from the top but Wallabees keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Wallabees tries to keep at a distance but Pain has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pain unloads a knee to the mid-section. Wallabees lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Pain manages to pull guard.
Wallabees stopping the sweep attempt from Pain.
Pain trying to strike off his back.
Pain working a defensive guard but Wallabees manages to pass into side control anyway.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angel Pain dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Pain has taken the fight to the clinch.

Pain breaks from the clinch.
Pain has a takedown stuffed.

Wallabees feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wallabees not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wallabees pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pain is keeping the position for now.
Pain preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Wallabees wants to get up but he can't break Pain's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Pain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wallabees is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wallabees is looking to escape.
Pain lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Pain controlling the position easily from mount.
Pain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallabees on the ground.

Wallabees defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pain.
Pain is landing with some decent strikes but Wallabees is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Pain looking to control but Wallabees is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Pain controlling the position easily from mount.
Pain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wallabees is looking to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wallabees is trying desperately to improve position.
Wallabees tries to hold on but Pain pushes him away.
Pain looking to ground and pound but Wallabees is blocking nicely.

Pain is going olschool here, as he tries to force Wallabees to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Wallabees shrugs it off.
Pain wants to control the pace but Wallabees is squirming around nicely.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Angel Pain just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Pain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wallabees is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angel Pain dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Pain gets a takedown into half guard.

Wallabees kicks off Pain and gets to his feet.
Pain lands a head kick. Wallabees smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Wallabees takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Pain drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wallabees working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pain.
Pain passes Wallabees's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pain lands strikes from half guard.
Pain works his way into full mount!

Pain has hold of Wallabees's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wallabees manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pain lands with some strikes.
Wallabees tries to reverse the position but Pain maintains control.
Pain wants to control the pace but Wallabees is squirming around nicely.
Wallabees keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wallabees wants to hold on but Pain pushes him away.
Pain content just to control the position here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Pain trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Wallabees wants to hold on but Pain pushes him away.
Pain connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Pain is working for a guillotine from mount but Wallabees frees his head quite easily.

Wallabees wants to control but Pain is having none of it.
Angel Pain is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Pain has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
