Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brown Down (ranked 4739 p4p, 379 weight class) and Gumby Lane (ranked 5218 p4p, 401 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Down might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Get Up Offa That Thing. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Down uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lane.
Down misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Down misses with a hook to the body
and Lane counters with a straight right hand.
Down throws a right and a left that both miss.
Down throws a right and a left that Lane avoids nicely.
Lane misses with a wild combination.
Down scores with a jab to the body.
Down takes a jab right on the kisser.
Lane misses with an uppercut. Down saw that one coming.
Down lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lane circles away quickly and effectively.
Lane looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Despite the aggression on Lane's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Down works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Lane throws out a loose jab but Down uses good head movement to avoid it.
A counter left hand to the body from Down misses its target.
Down on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Down moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Down tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lane was well out of range. Poor timing from Down.
Lane raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

A slow jab from Down misses its intended target.

Lane tries to score with a low kick but Down moves his leg out of the way.

Brown Down seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

As Lane looks to move away, Down throws a big counter combo but Lane just gets out of the way.

and Lane connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Lane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Down fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Down is breathing heavily.
Down staying out of range there.
Down looks to land a left hand but Lane moved out of range nicely.
Down misses the shot to the body.
Lane cracks a nice hook into Down's ribs.
Nice uppercut there from Lane.
Lane pivots, looking for a leg kick but Down is out of range and Lane settles back down.
Lane throws out a loose jab but Down uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lane cracks Down with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Lane counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
