Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sudarshan Yaakov (ranked 3817 p4p, 104 weight class) and Snorri Aquila (ranked 3604 p4p, 98 weight class). Snorri Aquila is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aquila drives through and clinches with Yaakov against the ropes.
Yaakov is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Aquila is keeping busy.

Aquila has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Yaakov is trying to keep an underhook but Aquila manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Yaakov throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Yaakov tries to roll over but Aquila keeps him under control.

Aquila wants to control from the top but Yaakov keeps moving.

Yaakov is looking for a triangle here but Aquila uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Aquila has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Yaakov works to full guard.

Yaakov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Aquila can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yaakov is keen to just control but Aquila is a slippery customer.

Yaakov is pushing down on Aquila's leg trying to pass to half guard. Aquila is fighting to maintain full guard but Yaakov has managed to sneak the leg through.
Aquila wants to control but Yaakov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Yaakov in particular looking to stall.

Aquila darts in looking for a takedown but Yaakov gets double underhooks and turns Aquila into the ropes.

Aquila shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yaakov sprawls well. Yaakov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aquila gets slowly back to his feet.
It looked like Yaakov was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Aquila counters with a single leg into guard. Yaakov didn't expect that.
