PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Irvine Kinneas (ranked 1726 p4p, 45 weight class) and Juanito Cortez (ranked 1926 p4p, 53 weight class). Kinneas comes to the ring accompanied by Judas Priest - Electric Eye. Cortez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by $$$. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Irvine Kinneas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juanito Cortez!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kinneas is looking to counter punch.
An inside leg kick from Cortez misses.
Kinneas ducks under a wild hook from Cortez.
Cortez fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kinneas checks it well.
Juanito Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cortez throws a quick inside leg kick.
Cortez throws a nice outside leg kick.
Cortez steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kinneas. That one must have hurt.
Cortez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kinneas.
Cortez throws a body punch but Kinneas moves out of range.
Cortez wants to slow Kinneas down by chopping away at his legs.
Nice defenses there by Cortez.
Cortez throws a chopping leg kick but Kinneas manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Nice body kick from Kinneas.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kinneas.
Cortez shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kinneas fakes the leg kick and cracks Cortez in the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kinneas scores with a nice head shot.
Kinneas pushes Cortez away with a front kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kinneas. That's going to slow Cortez down.
A head kick misses from Kinneas.
Cortez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cortez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kinneas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cortez tries to land a front kick but Kinneas steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kinneas's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cortez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kinneas scrambles back to his feet.
Kinneas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Cortez lands a jab to Kinneas's midsection.
Kinneas keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Kinneas was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Kinneas ducks under a wild hook from Cortez.
Cortez throws an overhand right that lands on Kinneas's shoulder, as Kinneas tries to avoid the shot.
Kinneas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cortez.
Cortez is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Kinneas lands with a kick to the ribs.
Kinneas throws a sloppy head kick and Cortez moves out of range easily.
Cortez walks into a left hand.
Kinneas tries to land a front kick but Cortez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cortez only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Cortez wants to slow Kinneas down by chopping away at his legs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cortez is looking to land body kicks.
Kinneas thinks about countering with a head kick.
Kinneas lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Some bone on bone action there as Kinneas checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
It looked like Kinneas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Cortez throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cortez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kinneas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cortez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
As Cortez backs away, Kinneas returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Kinneas bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cortez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Cortez looks winded!
Kinneas feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cortez's calf.
Cortez throws out a loose jab but Kinneas uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cortez throws a body punch but Kinneas moves out of range.
Kinneas slips a jab from Cortez.
Cortez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kinneas was well out of range. Poor timing from Cortez.
Kinneas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Cortez misses the jab.
Kinneas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cortez.
Kinneas is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Kinneas keeps Cortez at a distance using the push kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cortez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kinneas has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kinneas and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kinneas bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kinneas scores with a sloppy right hand. Cortez should have avoided that one.
Kinneas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cortez. That did some damage!
Cortez moves out of range of the body kick from Kinneas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Irvine Kinneas dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Sloppy strikes from Cortez. Those never looked like landing.
It looked like Kinneas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Cortez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kinneas misses with a wild body shot.
Cortez misses with an uppercut. Kinneas saw that one coming.
Kinneas lands a head shot.
Cortez lands a nice shot to the body.

Cortez ducks into a a hook from Kinneas and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!


Cortez is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kinneas connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Cortez's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Cortez - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Irvine Kinneas!
Juanito Cortez spoke after the fight, saying 'Well...shit happens....i will b back!'.
