Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, David Webb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Pattonson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Webb tries for a takedown but Pattonson circles away easily

and Pattonson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Pattonson preventing the sweep.
Pattonson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Webb looking for a sweep. Not yet Webb, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Webb wants to stand but Pattonson is controlling the position.
Pattonson sitting in guard here, content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pattonson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Webb has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pattonson has managed to get both his arms back between Webb's legs - danger averted.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pattonson postures up in Webb's guard and throws a big left but Webb blocks it.
Pattonson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pattonson trying to control the position from guard on top but Webb is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Webb fails with a takedown attempt.
Pattonson steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Webb.

Webb gets a double leg takedown into Pattonson's guard.
Webb throws a big elbow that misses.
Webb is fighting to break Pattonson's control of his arms but Pattonson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Webb lands a couple of elbows.
Webb scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Pattonson looking for a sweep. Not yet Pattonson, not yet.
Webb is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Pattonson looking to control.
Webb is looking to work some ground and pound but Pattonson has wrist control.
Webb missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Pattonson looking for a guillotine here but Webb defends easily.
Webb stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pattonson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Webb keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pattonson's head.
Webb advances to half guard.
Pattonson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Webb is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Webb has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Webb connects with a nice short shot to Pattonson's temple.

Webb seems to be looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pattonson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Webb is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Webb not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Pattonson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Webb has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Webb raining down shots from the mount!

Webb landing strikes from the mount and Pattonson is in trouble!

Webb postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pattonson looks a forlorn figure.
Pattonson looks winded!

Webb postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Pattonson is out cold - huge knockout for Webb!
