Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Santos (ranked 4481 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Mirao (ranked 5820 p4p, 0 weight class). Santos's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, You Wa Shock. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santos wants it to stay on the feet.

Santos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Santos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mirao sneaks out the side door and pushes Santos away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Santos is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Mirao defending against the ground and pound.
Santos slows the pace down.
Mirao is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Santos seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mirao for as long as he can get away with.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Santos is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Mirao is trying to escape and Santos transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Mirao is forced to tap! Nice work there by Santos! Very nice indeed!
