Diesel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Diesel uses his free foot to push down on Shark's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shark.
Shark is squirming around, avoiding Diesel's attempts to control the action.
Diesel scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Shark? #SUB2#
Shark defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Diesel.
Diesel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Diesel scoring with strikes but Shark is staying in there.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Diesel has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Shark is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Diesel yanks on the arm and Shark is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Diesel.

Diesel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Coles!
Coles manages to work his way to half guard, despite Diesel's best efforts.
Diesel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Coles is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Diesel working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Coles has hold of Diesel's hands but Diesel slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Coles is concentrating on defense, preventing Diesel from advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diesel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. #SUB2#
Coles is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Diesel has latched onto it... Big trouble! Diesel pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Coles is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Diesel!

Vin Diesel really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sportsmanship Ltd. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

Strazas tries to grapple but his opponent circles

Diesel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Strazas is trying to defend but Diesel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Strazas is breathing heavily.
Strazas is staying active underneath Diesel, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Strazas flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Diesel lands strikes from half guard.
Diesel is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Diesel wants to control but Strazas is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2#
Strazas is defending against the submission attempts here by Diesel.
Strazas throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Diesel manages to pass to side control. #T1#
Diesel looks up at the clock and then as Strazas takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Diesel smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Diesel works to advance to full mount. Strazas defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Strazas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diesel on the ground.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Diesel cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers! #SUB2#
Diesel looking to isolate an arm here. Strazas doesn't see it coming and as Diesel extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Diesel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vin Diesel!
