Timur drops back looking for a leg! Solonik is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Solonik manages to kick Timur off! Timur jumps back into Solonik's guard.
Timur trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Timur passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Timur thows a huge punch but Solonik dodges it nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Trax tries for a takedown but Solonik manages to get underhooks.
Trax is trying to stall.
Solonik is trying to push Trax away but Trax has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Solonik lands a left hand.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Solonik creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Solonik is trying to break the clinch but Trax is controlling him.
Trax tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Trax tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Solonik just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johny Trax. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Solonik lands with a right to the head.
Solonik working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Solonik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trax. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trax wants to pass to mount but Solonik is defending the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Solonik can do anything to dispel that myth.#T2##SUB#
Trax wants to work for an arm triangle but Solonik is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters circling - Solonik throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Trax wants to clinch up but Solonik keeps it at a distance.

Trax fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Solonik avoids it really well and circles away.
A little jabbing left from Solonik on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Trax will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Solonik's coach down at Highland CT & Spar was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Solonik's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Good work by Trax as he checks the leg kick.

It looks like Johny Trax has been cut.
Trax tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Solonik manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trax looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Solonik throws out a loose jab but Trax uses good head movement to avoid it.
Solonik misses with a looping left.
Trax changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
The crowd cheers as Solonik lands an impressive looking overhand right. Trax doesn't seem phased though.

Trax takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A bone on bone clash there as Trax blocks the leg kick.
Solonik uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Trax has time to react.
Solonik lands a jab to the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trax shoots in looking for a takedown. Solonik tries to sprawl out of it but Trax keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Solonik manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #CL2#

Trax gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ace Solonik dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Johny Trax is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Solonik paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Solonik has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#CL2#
Solonik closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Oh Trax is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!#BC2#
Solonik breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Trax with that takedown attempt.
Solonik drops Trax with a naaaaasty hook - Trax is in real trouble here! Solonik dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
