Anjos is trying to trip Meridius. He has hold of a leg but Meridius is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Anjos persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.#SUB2#
Meridius had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anjos defends it easily.
Meridius tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Anjos takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.#SUB2#
Anjos is looking for a kimura but Mercer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Anjos to get the leverage. #SUB2#
Anjos has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mercer defend it? Anjos steps over the head and cranks it - Mercer is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Anjos!
