Perez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Aki connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Perez scrambles back to his feet.
Aki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Perez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Aki fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Perez on the side of the head.
Perez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aki's waist but Aki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perez off to one side.
Blue Aki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Perez.
Perez drops his hands momentarily and Aki takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Perez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Aki pounces like a tiger and cracks Perez with a vicious hook! Perez is down but not out! Aki follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Perez is trying to break the clinch but Giles is controlling him.
Giles tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Perez just stands there and leans against the cage.
Giles is stalling here.
Perez blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Giles jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perez walks away with a smile on his face. Giles gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Giles is fighting off a takedown attempt but Perez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Giles to the mat. Giles regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#T1#

Well Perez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
