Bustos shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Whitaker eats them both and turns towards Bustos to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Whitaker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bustos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bustos is pawing at Whitaker, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Whitaker's nose. Whitaker is badly hurt! Bustos pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Whitaker tries desperately to hold on but Bustos is relentless in his assault! As Whitaker receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Bustos away and this one is in the books!

Smith dropped down on all fours and is barking in Whitaker's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

After the fight, Bob Smith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
