Diaz fails to land the takedown.
Carver goes for a small jab and connects. Now Carver goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Diaz stumbles back but Carver runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Diaz to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Diaz will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Addy Carver!

A big left from Wild misses.
Wild ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diaz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#SUB#
Wild is sitting in close to Diaz's body. Diaz has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Wild is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Wild is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Diaz.

A punch combination from Zero misses.
Diaz has a takedown stuffed.
Zero misses with an uppercut. Diaz saw that one coming.
Diaz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zero napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2#
Diaz is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Zero looks calm but he's in trouble here. Diaz gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Zero is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Diaz lets go of the hold and Zero can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nate Diaz!
After winning the bout, Nate Diaz thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

James tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Diaz wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diaz is looking for a triangle here but James uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Diaz seems a little lost for a moment, as James dominates the positioning.
Diaz is looking for a sweep.
James creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Diaz is not content to let James control the position.
Diaz tries to improve position but can't.
James remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. #T2#

James works to advance to full mount. Diaz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

James uses his free foot to push down on Diaz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Diaz.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz regains half guard.
James landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Diaz is looking for a sweep. James is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
James tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Diaz.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Leom James will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
