A momentary lapse in concentration from Mercado enables Ritchie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mercado manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Oh Mercado is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ritchie wants to stand but Mercado has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ritchie loads up on a big left hand. Mercado felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Ritchie looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Mercado can't hide his disappointment, as Ritchie celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Toby Ritchie!
Toby Ritchie decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
