Ray throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Ray misses with a knee strike.
Scott blocks an uppercut.
Scott gets through Ray's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Scott jumps into guard, dragging Ray to the mat. #SUB#
Scott has his feet on Ray's thighs here. He's pushed Ray off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Ray screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Hughes clinches with his opponent.
Ray tries to break free but Hughes pushes him back against the cage.
Hughes drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ray is trying to break the clinch but Hughes is controlling him.
Hughes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ray is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hughes prevents Ray from breaking the clinch.#TD#
Ray is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hughes is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ray to the mat. Ray regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hughes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ray motions for Hughes to come forward. Ray throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Hughes counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Hughes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ray tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Hughes lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Hughes is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hughes extends the arm and Ray is forced to tap!

French's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and French decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ray's guard.

French is standing up over Ray. Ray looks to escape but French dives into side control. #SUB#
French is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Ray looks calm but he's in trouble here. French gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Ray is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! French lets go of the hold and Ray can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Patterson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Despite the aggression on Ray's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Ray tries to clinch #TD#
and Patterson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ray is looking to stand back up but Patterson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ray. #REVB#

Patterson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Patterson is taking a breather. Ray says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Patterson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ray for as long as he can get away with.
Patterson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ray is sitting in close to Patterson's body. Patterson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ray is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ray is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Patterson.
