Cooke has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McDonald is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McDonald postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Cooke in real trouble here! The ref calls for Cooke to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Lard McDonald took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.

Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McDonald, pushing him back against the cage.
McDonald tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.
McDonald takes a shot right to the bread basket.#CL#
McDonald tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.
Silva throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
McDonald tries to pull guard but Silva won't allow it.
Silva throws an elbow that misses.
Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McDonald.
Big Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lard McDonald.
Silva lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. #CUT#

Silva creates a bit of space for himself and rocks McDonald with a big uppercut! McDonald tries to clinch up but Silva pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples McDonald to the mat! McDonald covers up and Silva unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Lard McDonald was interviewed post fight and said 'I am done with this, I'm going home bye suckers'.
