We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shelf has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Jab from Halifax.
Joe Halifax seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halifax shoots in looking for a takedown. Shelf tries to sprawl out of it but Halifax keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shelf manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shelf drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Halifax defends it well.
Halifax misses with a few strikes there.
Halifax lands with a shot to the body.
Halifax leaves Shelf with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pheonix changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shelf tries to avoid it but Pheonix manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shelf to the ground. Shelf escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pheonix throws a wild hook but Shelf just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Pheonix gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Shelf raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Top Shelf really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that SHINTO logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
