Matthews works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Hammer throws a right and a left that Matthews avoids nicely.
Matthews looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hammer. Matthews does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hammer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#TD#
Hammer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Matthews tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hammer is in Matthews's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB#
Hammer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Matthews wants to stand up but Hammer is controlling him. #SUB#
Matthews wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Hammer's hips, looking to push off. But Hammer grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Matthews screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
