Mctwister tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Date paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mctwister with a lazy takedown attempt
and Date counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Date avoids the head kick by Mctwister.

Mctwister closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Date to the mat! Date manages to get full guard.

Mctwister throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Mctwister wants to finish this one by submission but Date is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mctwister.
Date tries to control Mctwister's body but Mctwister pushes him off. Date squirms to his side and now Mctwister has his back!

Date is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mctwister gets his way!

Nip Mctwister dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Date, as that shot connected.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mctwister tried to score with a low kick but Date checks it.
Date was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Mctwister takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
