You can see the frustration on Giou's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Rickford is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Giou defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Giou can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round but I would say that Randy Rickford will probably get the nod.

Rickford lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Giou quite badly. Giou pulls Rickford in close trying to recover. Rickford postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Giou on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Giou doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

He turns his back on Cartwright, trying to create some distance but Cartwright rushes him, striking wildly and Rickford goes down! The referee tackles Cartwright into the cage to end the fight! Cartwright is one violent man!
