Souza's coach down at 10th planet rio was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Souza's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Souza doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Thompson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Battle lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Souza takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Souza tries for a takedown but Battle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.#CL2#

Souza turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Souza manages to end up in side control.
Souza has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.#SUB#
