Hicks manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Platcic keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Hicks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Platcic looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!#TD#
Hicks has hold of one of Platcic's legs. Platcic is fighting the takedown attempt but Hicks gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Platcic wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hicks manages to pass to side control.

Hicks pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Platcic taps out and this one is all over!

Brown throws a nice looking combination but Hicks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hicks appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Brown throws a series of strikes that have Hicks backpedaling. #CUT2#
It looks like Earnest Hicks has been cut.
The fighters circle momentarily. Brown darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Brown misses with a hook to the body
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Brown throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped #TD#
and Hicks counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hicks passes Brown's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.#SUB#
Brown is kicking away at Hicks from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Hicks grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Brown trying to push Hicks off... Brown taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

Hicks has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but O Brian regains guard immediately. #ES2#
O Brian has his feet on Hicks's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Jack O Brian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hicks feints and then cracks O Brian's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow O Brian down.

A head kick by O Brian - that's a beauty! Hicks is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even O Brian can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
