The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mazuma throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hatfield was covering up waiting for the punch and Mazuma finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hatfield wants to get back to his feet but Mazuma is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mazuma is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mazuma escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hatfield gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hatfield drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mazuma looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mazuma looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mazuma!

Hatfield manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hatfield is keen to just control but Mazuma is a slippery customer.

Menezes lands a left and a right that send Hatfield crashing to the mat, dazed. Menezes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Nicholas Hatfield has been cut.
Menezes throws a sloppy head kick and Hatfield moves out of range easily.
Hatfield swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Oh Hatfield is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Menezes shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Menezes slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Menezes lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.
