We've been informed that Mercier has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Mika throws a lazy uppercut
and Mercier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mercier throws a hook but Mika blocks it.
Vaclav Mika seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Mika misses its intended target.
Mercier tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Mika seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Mika creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Kowal with a big uppercut! Kowal tries to clinch up but Mika pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Kowal to the mat! Kowal covers up and Mika unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
