Volkov throws a right hand that Alvaroo ducks under and follows up with a left that Alvaroo also avoids with ease.
Alvaroo ducks under a wild hook from Volkov.
Alvaroo went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Volkov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.#TD#
Alvaroo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Volkov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alvaroo is in Volkov's guard.
Alvaroo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Alvaroo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Volkov for as long as he can get away with.

Volkov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvaroo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alvaroo has hold of Volkov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Volkov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Alvaroo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
