Jetson keeps Hardpeck at a distance using the push kick.
Hardpeck fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hardpeck tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jetson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hardpeck swinging wildly here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jetson, as that shot connected.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hardpeck crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jetson - the referee stops the clock and Hardpeck gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jetson. Hardpeck manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hardpeck looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Jetson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That kick from Jetson tenderised Hardpeck's leg. Hardpeck is trying to keep his angry face on.#TD2#
Jetson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jetson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hardpeck swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jetson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hardpeck wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jetson cracks Hardpeck with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.#T2#
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.#TD2#

Jetson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jetson is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Jetson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Jetson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.#T3#

Jetson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hardpeck rolls with it to try and escape but Jetson cranks on the arm and Hardpeck is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Riff Jetson!

Hays shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hays was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hardpeck can't do much from the bottom here.
Hardpeck tries to improve position but can't. #SUB#
Hays looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardpeck pushes Hays away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hays gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardpeck sneaks back into half guard.#SUB#
Hays is looking for a kimura but Hardpeck is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hays to get the leverage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hardpeck can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hardpeck is looking for a sweep. Hays is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.#T1##SUB#

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hardpeck working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hays's head.

Hardpeck postures up and lands a big shot to Hays's brow.
Oh Hays is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hardpeck is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hays is breathing heavily.
Hardpeck gets to his feet and stands over Hays, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hays felt that one! Hardpeck unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hays from any more punishment!
