Yusupov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Smoke rolls with it to try and escape but Yusupov cranks on the arm and Smoke is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sultan Yusupov!

Valenzuela throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Smoke tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Valenzuela is in Smoke's guard.
Valenzuela wants to control from the top but Smoke keeps moving.
Smoke looking to control.
Valenzuela is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smoke controls Valenzuela momentarily but Valenzuela frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smoke throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back. #T1#
Valenzuela is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Valenzuela should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.#SUB2#

Valenzuela escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smoke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. #SUB2#
Valenzuela is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smoke is aware though and is defending well.

Smoke drops back looking for a leg! Valenzuela is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valenzuela manages to kick Smoke off! Smoke jumps back into Valenzuela's guard.

Smoke passes into side control, despite Valenzuela's attempt to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Valenzuela is trying to work for a sweep but Smoke has mounted him!#SUB#
Smoke with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Valenzuela really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smoke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T4##SUB#
Smoke working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Valenzuela turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Smoke off and cradles Valenzuela's limp body as Smoke celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Chief Smoke!
