Belfort closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Maldonado is pressed up against the cage. Belfort has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maldonado down to the mat. Maldonado avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Maldonado really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#TD2#
A momentary lapse in concentration from Maldonado enables Belfort to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Maldonado manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Belfort lands a couple of elbows.
Belfort is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Belfort gets to his feet and stands over Maldonado, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Maldonado felt that one! Belfort unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Maldonado from any more punishment!
