Hed definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Hed quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.#CL#
Hed closes the distance and pushes Mullen back into the cage.
Hed's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Hed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mullen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hed sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mullen somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hed connects with a superb combination that knocks Mullen out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Hed before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Mullen!

Penn scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mullen is trying to maintain the position but Penn is very close to passing his half guard.

Penn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mullen is just riding it out for now. Penn eventually gives up the hold.

Penn working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Mullen turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Penn off and cradles Mullen's limp body as Penn celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Freddy Penn!
After the fight, Freddy Penn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
