Hanzo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Suraima's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hanzo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hanzo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hanzo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Suraima swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hanzo stands up over Suraima, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Hanzo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hanzo distracts Suraima with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanzo lands a couple of digs.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hanzo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Suraima looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hanzo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hanzo pushes down on Suraima's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hanzo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. #ROC#

Hanzo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Suraima with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Suraima is still in real trouble! Can Hanzo finish him?

Suraima is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hanzo connects with a nice short shot to Suraima's temple.
Hanzo is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Hanzo! Suraima is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Hitori Hanzo!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Hitori Hanzo waved his t-shirt featuring Arcticus University: London's logo in front of the cameras.
