Kahale fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thompson avoids it really well and circles away.

Kahale tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Thompson defends well and Kahale ends up having to push Thompson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kahale jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thompson walks away with a smile on his face. Kahale gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #CL2#

Thompson goes for a takedown attempt but Kahale pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Thompson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Thompson tries to stand but Kahale is controlling from the bottom.

and Thompson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gaines won't be happy with that.
Thompson looks up at the clock and then as Gaines takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thompson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Thompson wants to stand but Gaines has his arm trapped.
Gaines really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gaines seems a little lost for a moment, as Thompson dominates the positioning.
