Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tetoko Tukosita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 wins, 1 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Ewens!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tukosita throws a head kick but Ewens moves out of range.

Ewens gets a takedown into half guard.
Tukosita wants to control but Ewens is keeping busy.
Ewens throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Tukosita controlling the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ewens in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ewens sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tukosita defending well though.
Tukosita is looking to control Ewens's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tukosita avoid being mounted?
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Tukosita moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Ewens throws a big elbow that misses.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tukosita thows a leg kick but Ewens checks it

and Ewens counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tukosita won't be happy with that.
Ewens tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tukosita's legs.
Tukosita wants to control but Ewens postures up.
Ewens slows the pace down.
Ewens is looking to take a break and control but Tukosita is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sloppy strikes there by Ewens.

You can see the frustration on Tukosita's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Ewens tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Tukosita tries to bench press Ewens off him but Ewens keeps the position.
Ewens trying to control the position but Tukosita is working away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tukosita tries to improve position but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ewens clinches up with Tukosita and pushes him back against the cage.

Ewens breaks the clinch.
Ewens throws a leg kick which misses Tukosita's front leg but catches the back leg as Tukosita tries to avoid it.
Tukosita tries to clinch up.

Tukosita moves into range and clinches up with Ewens.
Tukosita tries to work over Ewens's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Ewens managing to block the knees to the body from Tukosita.
Tukosita missing with knees to the body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ewens lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tukosita or not.
Ewens should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ewens wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tukosita is trying to force a seperation but Ewens has the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Ewens dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tukosita throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ewens steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Tukosita.
Ewens throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Ewens fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tukosita to the ground. Ewens is now in Tukosita's guard.
Ewens wanted to stand there but Tukosita had control of the position.
Tukosita looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ewens is one step ahead there.
Tukosita pulls Ewens in to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ewens trying to control the position from guard on top but Tukosita is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tukosita avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Tukosita utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ewens trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tukosita moves in looking to clinch but Ewens pushes him off.
Tukosita misses the shot to the body.
Ewens tries to counter by closing the distance.
Tukosita misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Ewens drives through and clinches with Tukosita against the cage.
Tukosita tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Tukosita misses with a punch on the inside.

Ewens jumps guard and drags Tukosita to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Tukosita wants to control from the top but Ewens keeps moving.

Ewens is breathing heavily.
Tukosita wants to stand and escape but instead Ewens has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Tukosita wants to control but Ewens passes easily into half guard.
Tukosita gets back to full guard.
Tukosita keeping moving, preventing Ewens from controlling successfully.

Ewens throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Tukosita trying to keep a closed guard but Ewens is proving a slippery customer.
Joe Ewens has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tukosita manages to get to full guard.
Ewens trying to control but Tukosita is working from the bottom.

Joe Ewens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tukosita attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Tukosita misses with a straight right.
Tukosita looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ewens is fending him off so far but Tukosita persists. Nope, Ewens circles away and we're back to standing.
Ewens avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tukosita really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tukosita falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Ewens to counter with a crisp jab.
Ewens throws a sloppy head kick and Tukosita moves out of range easily.
Tukosita throws a big counter combination but Ewens scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Tukosita misses with a double jab.
Ewens is trying to counter with his kicks.
Tukosita doesn't manage to clinch there - Ewens circles away.
And Ewens tries to counter it with a takedown but Tukosita pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Ewens shoots in and gets a takedown into Tukosita's guard.
Tukosita not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Tukosita looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ewens has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Ewens counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tukosita won't be happy with that.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Tukosita is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tukosita wants to control but Ewens is keeping busy and won't allow it.
