A momentary lapse in concentration from Rivera enables Leary to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rivera manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Leary will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rivera seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Leary trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Leary slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rivera regains half guard there - taking advantage of Leary's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. #T3#

Leary ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Leary no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
