Johnny Hammer really struggled with his weight cut for this fight. After coming in at 161.9, he had two hours to cut the additional weight. He was unable to do so and as a result, his fight with Frankie DeSoto was cancelled.

De Toro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. DeSoto is working away from the top position though.
DeSoto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Toro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeSoto fails to land with a series of punches.
Yan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Yan moves out of range as DeSoto strikes.
Yan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Yan fails with the takedown.
DeSoto lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Yan.
Yan has been working on his balance at Desert Fitness & Training -13 Elites/1 Exceptional, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by DeSoto.
DeSoto tries to clinch
and Yan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

DeSoto fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Yan is fighting off a takedown attempt but DeSoto is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Yan to the mat. Yan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Moon shoots for a double leg takedown but DeSoto sprawls well. He's pushed Moon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
DeSoto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Moon was well out of range. Poor timing from DeSoto.
DeSoto throws a shot from downtown. Moon moves away and avoids it.
Moon seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
