The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Silva.
Silva keeps the fight on the outside.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Smith counters with a stiff right hand.
Smith dodges the punch combination from Silva.
Silva darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva gets control of Smith's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Smith makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Silva's head.

Silva wants to pass to mount but Smith is defending the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Smith tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Smith wants to control but Silva is having none of it.
Smith is wriggling around trying to escape.
Smith tries to control Silva's body but Silva pushes him off. Smith squirms to his side and now Silva has his back!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
You can see the frustration on Smith's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Smith looks for the body kick but Silva saw that one coming.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.

Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Silva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?

That was a close second round but I would say that Pedro Silva will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Smith is looking to sweep but instead, Silva has passed into half guard.
Smith is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Silva is taking a breather. Smith says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Silva is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
