Alves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bro.
Alves looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Bro has Alves pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Alves manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Bro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mia dives in and scores a takedown into Alves's guard.#SUB2#
Mia drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Mia seems to have locked his on tight now - Alves screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Mia, as he picks up the win!
