The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dubois misses with a left hand
and Somebody counters with a nice body shot.
Somebody connects with a single shot there.
Dubois misses with a body shot.
It seemed like Somebody was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Dubois throws a leg kick but Somebody checks it.
Dubois takes a kick to the side of the head.
Dubois misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Somebody counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Somebody swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dubois.
Dubois takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Somebody, as that shot connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dubois throws a lazy uppercut
and Somebody counters with a left and a right that stings Dubois.
Dubois rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Somebody moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dubois gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Dubois throws a leg kick but Somebody sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Dubois misses with a left hand
and Somebody counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Somebody blocks a leg kick.
Dubois misses with a shot to the body
and Somebody counters with a nice leg kick.
Somebody lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Dubois looks to land a left hand but Somebody moved out of range nicely.
Somebody misses with a combination
and Somebody takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Dubois takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Somebody circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Dubois tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Somebody wins by KO!

Crunch! Carpenter slams his shin into Dubois's torso.
Carpenter swings for the body but Dubois moves out of range.
An attempted straight right counter from Dubois misses the target.
Carpenter throws a head kick but Dubois moves out of range.
Carpenter connects with an inside leg kick.
Carpenter looks to throw the jab but Dubois is out of range.
Carpenter fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dubois tries to land a body kick
and Carpenter counters with a two punch combo.
Carpenter misses with an uppercut. Dubois saw that one coming.
Dubois staying out of range there.
Carpenter looks to score with a jab to the body but Dubois is just out of range.
A counter left hand to the body from Dubois misses its target.
Carpenter swings for the body but Dubois moves out of range.
A left lands for Dubois.
Carpenter lands a nice looking body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As Carpenter backs away, Dubois returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

A nice leg kick lands there from Dubois.

Dubois lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carpenter circles away quickly and effectively.
Carpenter takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dubois throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Carpenter's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Dubois dives in looking to finish as Carpenter flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Dubois's strikes! Dubois is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Carpenter's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Carpenter was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
