Gaki has been working on his boxing with his coaches at High Kicks in the buildup to the fight.
Adams tries to clinch but Gaki moves away
and Gaki counters with an inside leg kick.
Adams just misses with a punch to the body.
Gaki scores with a kick to the body.
Adams looks winded!
Adams takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gaki scores with a kick to the midsection.
Gaki lands with a nice body kick.
Gaki throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Gaki cracks Adams with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Adams looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Gaki finish him?

Adams doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Adams gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

Adams closes the distance and clinches.
Adams tries to score a body lock takedown but Cozad shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Adams blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Cozad gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Adams.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Adams.
Cozad managing to block the knees to the body from Adams.
Cozad lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Cozad is pressed up against the cage. Adams has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cozad down to the mat. Cozad avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Adams lands with a good body shot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Adams has cracked Cozad with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Adams lands another huge swinging hook and Cozad tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Cozad, before Adams can land any more shots!

Alexander Adams decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |
