There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
It looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#SUB2#
Smith is working to tighten his grip on Aldo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Aldo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Smith is really squeezing tight and eventually Aldo passes out! Smith breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Donald went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aldo throws an overhand right that lands on Donald's shoulder, as Donald tries to avoid the shot.

Donald backs away from a small jab... but Aldo lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Donald crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Aldo with a spectacular finish!

Formiga tries to keep at a distance but Aldo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Aldo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Aldo is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Formiga changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Aldo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jose Aldo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Enrique Formiga.
A head kick misses from Aldo.
Despite the aggression on Formiga's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Formiga is defended easily by Aldo.

and Aldo counters with a left right combination that sends Formiga crashing to the mat - Aldo wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Formiga out for a TKO! Devastating finish!

Thruston throws out a leg kick but Aldo moves out of range and Thruston only half commits.
Aldo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice takedown defense from Aldo. No joy for Thruston on that attempt.
Thruston goes for a double leg but Aldo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Aldo continues to drive forward.
The referee calls for Aldo to work.
Aldo lands an elbow inside.
Thruston tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Aldo avoids it.
Thruston prevents a body shot from Aldo. #BC#
