We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aya wants to improve his position but Thompson is controlling well.
Thompson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aya with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Uoston fails to land the takedown.
Uoston takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Aya connects with a jab.
Aya throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Uoston's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Aya dives in looking to finish as Uoston flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Aya's strikes! Aya is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Uoston's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Uoston was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
